The first ride in the Jersey's - Emigration Canyon

Dad and I had an evening to ourselves and decided to bike up Emigration Canyon. With all the rain, the canyon looked beautiful and was very busy. A lot of cyclists out thinking the same thing, what a great night to enjoy the mountains! 

Dad was a champion. He went at his own pace, taking in the scenery, enjoying the smells of the wildflowers and the splashing of the mountain run-off. It is a pretty spectacular  place.

 

At home, Melanie surprised me by decorating my room with posters for Team Tamera. Thank you Mel; it was a pleasant surprise and support only a day away from the big event.

The Training...Continues

A few weeks before the ride and the training continues. I suckered some friends into an afternoon of riding and in all honesty, they got further than I did. I got another flat tire and walked my bike back to the mouth of City Creek awaiting my ride home. That is the second flat tire I have gotten out on the road; so I thought it was about time to invest in a couple necessities: extra tube, tire pump, and flat tire tool kit. The journey continues and so far, no flat tire.... now I need to look into some shoes and peddles.
